OLYMPIC STARS JOIN FORCES WITH EDF ENERGY TO LAUNCH 'GREEN BRITAIN DAY'

EDF Energy, the first sustainability partner of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, has announced the inaugural Green Britain Day to be held on 10th July 2009. An annual event, Green Britain Day will act as a focal point for people to take action towards living a more sustainable lifestyle and reduce the UK's carbon footprint ahead of the London 2012 Games. To kick-start the launch, Lexis recruited a number of Olympic and Paralympic athletes including Victoria Pendleton, Tom James and Eleanor Simmonds to act as ambassadors for the programme.

Gold medal winning cyclist Victoria Pendleton kicked off the campaign in style with top fashion guru Wayne Hemingway designing a special green Union Jack dress made out of recycled materials to mirror the iconic symbol of Green Britain Day.
