Day four of my China adventure and I was based at the Grand Hyatt for most of the day for two interview sessions with Terry Venables. The morning was an hour with Beijing TV, one of the major stations in China, which was great. The interviewer was very overwhelmed to meet El Tel, and got quite emotional! Terry was fantastic again, and provided more fascinating insight into his illustrious career. One journalist pulled out a great photo of Terry and David Beckham, see below. After a break for lunch, we were back into interviews for most of the afternoon, a second sitting with national Chinese print media, followed by more TV with ESPN Star.
In the evening we attended the Premier League Gala Reception, along with the teams, the British Ambassador in China, loads of local dignitaries and a bunch of very, very wealthy bankers. The managers did a Q&A session, and Harry Redknapp was in brilliant form with the media, as he has been all week. Then it was off to CCTV5 for a TV appearance with the BPL and BAT trophies, and back across Beijing to finish the evening off with some more duck in the excellent hotel restaurant. We had the fortune to sit and have a few hours with Terry, Harry and Martin Tyler in a private room for dinner, where they served up some cracking football stories, none of which I'm going to repeat on here. One more day to go of the Barclays Asia Trophy 2009. It's been an amazing week so far, check out an update photo gallery here.
