Lexis Sport has been working on a project with Special Olympics Great Britain promoting the encouragement campaign. The campaign aims to raise the profile of the charity and also illustrate how encouragement helps people with learning disabilities transform their lives through sport.
Charity Special Olympics GB is the country’s largest provider of year-round sports training and competition for people with learning disabilities and it struggles from a lack of awareness. The campaign led with a short interactive film created by JWT and award winning director Johnny Green. It stars Omar Haddad, a Special Olympics GB gymnast from Widnes and was filmed at Wembley Arena. Omar is seen preparing for and performing a gymnastics routine and online users can use an interactive volume slider to control the level of encouragement he receives from the crowd. If encouragement is built up, Omar is empowered to perform his routine.
The film is incredibly emotive and really brings to life the important role that encouragement plays for athletes with learning disabilities. Please have a look at the film...
