It's been an exciting couple of weeks for the Ryder Cup Madrid 2018 team at Lexis Sport.
After qualifying for Colin Montgomerie's European Ryder Cup team to face the USA at Celtic Manor, Madrid 2018 bid supporter Miguel Ángel Jiménez showed exactly what he will offer the team in three weeks time by cruising to a stunning victory at the European Masters at Crans-sur-Sierre in Switzerland.
If that wasn't reason enough to celebrate, Jimenez also won the European Tour Shot of the Month award for July, putting him in the running to eventually win the European Tour Shot of the Year prize.
To show their support to the array of Spanish talent in the competition, some of the Ryder Cup Madrid 2018 bid team visited Switzerland to have dinner with the man himself, as well as Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño, Pablo Martín, Nacho Garrido, Rafa Cabrera, José Manuel Lara, Pablo Larrazábal and Alejandro Cañizares.
With the Ryder Cup drawing ever closer, it will be interesting to see whether the in-form Jiménez can inspire another European victory. We'll be heading to Celtic Manor with the other members the Ryder Cup Madrid 2018 bid team to watch the action, so watch this space for more updates!
